So how do you make money from it? That’s the billion dollar question.

While money is being made in providing the platforms (cell phone manufacturers – Motorola, Apple, RIM) and the gateway (you cell phone provider – Verizon, AT&T, Sprint), that really isn’t where the opportunity is. The real money is going to be in mobile advertising. However, newspoke just like people were hesitant to spend money on the Internet at first, advertising on phones right now is receiving plenty of resistance from consumers and response rates are woefully low.

Part of the problem is that advertisers aren’t adapting to the new advertising medium of mobile phones. They’re simply taking what works on the Internet and trying it on phones, topicals and if their results are any indication, that simply doesn’t work. tbadaily
